Socially Engaged Art
In 2006 I did my first work as an arts facilitator with some local companies associated with RIO while studying Fine Art Practices in Plymouth. Since then I have continued to make projects in a public context. I started Brick Project on Stokes Croft in 2011 as a reciprocal process exploring hierarchy and cohesion in the creation of graffiti and communal public work. In 2019 Fraisia Bruist-Papazian and myself formed Brick Project CIC, which has resulted in large scale projects in Plymouth, Macclesfield and Bristol. We hire local people from all backgrounds as arts facilitators, to give people an accessible way into this work, encouraging the artists of tomorrow to create their own opportunities.
